Deprive a well-fed Westerner of energy for more than a few hours and you’ll get their attention. The reliable and affordable power supplies that we’ve taken for granted were built up over a century. A raft of suicidal energy policies introduced in the last 20 years will have them destroyed before this decade is out.
Blind ignorance is just one of the reasons that rent-seekers and their political enablers have been able to pull this off, profiteering handsomely along the way.
So, at the risk of sounding preachy, STT thinks it’s worth spending a moment or two on understanding what energy is and what it means to our way of life with a little help from Robert Hargraves.
