G7 entrusts Carnegie Foundation with psychological warfare campaign against Russia


At the latest G7 summit at the end of June, the top leaders of the Western powers entrusted Canada and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace with the task of “combating Russian propaganda” about the Ukrainian War. The final communiqué reads as follows:

“We welcome the immediate response of the G7 Rapid Reaction Mechanism and its collaboration with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace to create a multi-stakeholder crisis network including G7 states, social media platforms and civil society to preserve the integrity of the Ukrainian information environment in the face of Russia’s unprecedented information warfare. To this end, we will further develop the G7 rapid reaction mechanism, focusing more on hybrid threats and strengthening its capacity to respond to foreign interference, including at the sub-state level.”
